KIRIBATI IS AWESOME

Mauri raoraou!

How is everyone doing??? This week was insanely fast. Everyone always told me that each week is going to go by so fast, and, before you know it, the mission will be over. I know exactly what they mean now... The language is actually coming along quite well. I'm pretty used to the missionary schedule, so I got a grasp on when I should study and how I should manage my time. However, God has a crazy way of pushing us to our true potential and out of our comfort zone to allow us to grow. Earlier this week I was assigned to be District Leader which means more time spent going to meetings, more time spent focusing on the needs of the elders in my district, and less time spent on my own studies... of course haha. Yes, the stress was real, but I went into it knowing God will bless me for doing his work.  I studied as much of the language as I could this week and dedicated all my time to strengthening my own knowledge as well as strengthening the missionaries I serve. This Thursday, my companion and I taught a lesson to a member of our church who spoke Kiribati. I went into the discussion pretty stressed because I definitely didn't have as much time to study this week as I have in the past; however, I went in with faith knowing that God would provide me with what I needed. Elder Hoggan and I gave a full 20 minute lesson without looking at our papers or reading once. We taught just from memory and it was the craziest thing... God really blesses the lives of those who have faith in him.

This week, Elder Russel M Nelson came to speak to us at the MTC. He reminded us of the love that God has for his missionaries... but most importantly, he reminded us of the love that God has for his children. I know that he loves the people of Kiribati and he has sent me to do his work and to bless their lives. I know that God knows and loves each and every one of you. I was doing my scripture study this week and I came across a scripture that is just so AWESOME... so of course, I have to share it. Here it goes, scripture of the week! Mosiah 24:14...

"And I will ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions"

I love you all so much! Keep pushing through. I miss all of you and I can't express the gratitude I have for all the support I receive from all of you. You all really are amazing. Until next week. Tiabo!!!!
